BPD International Committee Goals:

Goal 1- Increase exposure BSW faculty and students to international content.

The BPD International committee will present two board sponsored sessions at the BPD annual conference and one or two sessions at the APM. International content will focus on supporting faculty to develop international opportunities for students, globalizing curriculums, and implications of international field practicums.

The committee will strengthen its relationship with the CSWE and NASW international committees. One of our committee members already serves on the CSWE international committee. He will support our efforts to develop new linkages and networking opportunities with the international activities of the CSWE. Relationships with NASW’s efforts will need to be developed as will linkages with international human service organizations.

Goal 4- Maintain and expand the BPD international committee’s resources to students and faculty through its website and list serve.

The international committee’s website is a good resource for students and faculty interested in exploring opportunities abroad. A survey of all accredited BSW programs will enable us to update and expand the information available on our website.

Goal 5- Develop preliminary plans for coordinating an international conference designed as a faculty development program.

The committee will develop preliminary plans for an international conference. The plan will include a program, speakers, and location. An administrative structure for coordinating the event will also be proposed.
